Psychotherapy is relationally-based counseling with a licensed mental health clinician, addressing current challenges that are often rooted in past experiences.
Together we work on resourcing tools to better manage your present experience, while compassionately addressing underlying causes.
I believe that a lot of the work of therapy is facilitating the journey back home to yourself. This is a unique journey for everyone, so our work will vary depending on your path. We will spend time shaping that together.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I see how current dynamics and challenges are shaped by past experiences, particularly in how you may have both experienced and survived trauma, and how those beliefs about yourself, others, and the world are continuing to impact life today.
As an EMDR trained therapist, I work from the perspective that we are wired for healing, and whenever possible, provide the scaffolding for that to occur.
As a somatically trained therapist, I recognize that our bodies both hold our past trauma, and also some wisdom in directing us toward healing, when we learn to listen with gentle, mindful curiosity.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) focuses on present concerns or traumatic memories, but rather than being talk-therapy based, EMDR uses eye movements or other forms of dual attention stimulation to activate the brain’s ability to resolve these concerns, and process experiences that have not previously been integrated into adaptive neural networks. Often this results in reduced distress, increased resilience, and the traumatic
events now being remembered, rather than re-experienced. -
Intake appointments are 75 minutes, and cost $180
Regular 55 minute appointments are $125
I am not in network with insurance, but I can provide a super bill for you to apply for out of network reimbursement, which will be a percentage of the cost - this varies depending on your insurance plan.
If you are hoping to apply for out of network reimbursement, I recommend checking with your insurance company before we begin our work together to confirm that they will reimburse your work with me. Please be aware that insurance require there be a mental health diagnosis for them to consider covering out of network costs.

The length of time someone choose to work with a therapist varies. I usually suggest a minimum of 6 months, with the understanding that we may well continue for longer depending on what you are hoping to work on and frequency of sessions. This is something we discuss throughout our work together.
You always have the right to choose your therapist, and to terminate the work of therapy at any point.
When it comes to ending or pausing our work together, I recommend discussing this in session, and scheduling final sessions. Ending, whenever that may be, is an important relational skill that is a significant part of our work together.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.
Make sure your healthcare provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
